My apologies.

Oh, I've been such a bad blogger! I have a good reason for not blogging the first week I was in Busan though, I didn't have any internet access in my apartment-I may have already said this. Anyway, last Friday my internet was finally fixed, hooray!

So now that I'm starting to get a routine down, I will make sure to update more often, and I'll be sure to put up some pictures on here.

Right now, I'm at my school so I don't have any pictures on this computer to go ahead and post. It's kinda crazy because even though on most days my last class is done at 12:10 pm, I can't leave until 4:40! It's like torture! Ideally, I'm supposed to use that time for lesson planning, but since I've been here, my coteachers have already had plans ready. They're very last minute here, and have an annoying habit of just telling me the morning of or (usually) during class what they want me to say/do. It was pretty frustrating at first, but now I'm just getting used to them saying something in Korean to the kids, then looking at me and expect me to know what to do! I just have to be quick on my feet...

Despite the lack of organization they seem to have, my coteachers are the two sweetest ladies named Jung Hyang and...? It took me almost a week to get down one name, I'm still working on the other's. I think I'll just give them all English names to go by. Sweet as they are, their teaching methods leave me thinking the kids aren't learning as much English as they would if I had more input in the planning. But, for now, we're all still getting used to each other. I'm gradually trying to work in different things that I think will be more effective than the coteacher automatically translating everything I say to Hangul (Korean)!

This kids are so cute and so funny! It can be frustrating trying to break down phrases like "What day is it?" to something they'll understand-today, I asked one of my 5th grade classes this and they all said "It's sunny!" haha! But I just have to keep reminding myself to speak slowly, use a LOT of hand gestures and exaggerated facial expressions and be patient and it'll all work out!

Anyway, I'm going to get back to "work," I still have 2 more hours before I can go home. I've been emailing my parents regularly, so I'll be using those emails to help me post what all's been going on the past couple of weeks!

Annyong haseyo!
